Boondocks

What started off as reading a Wikipedia article about mythological floods on the weekend turned into one of those convoluted sessions where you click on link after link until you reach some completely removed from what you started off on. By a sheer fluke, I read about an animated TV show called The Boondocks. It sounded good, so I erm, legally purchased it over night and I have to say...

Genius.

I'm really having trouble faulting it, everything about it is so cool! It's about the Freeman brothers (Huey and Riley) who live with their grandad in their new rich white surroundings. Might sound familiar, but
Fresh Prince of Bel Air this ain't.

There is a really agressive political message in each episode with a 'call to arms' theme for the black community running throughout. The animation is done in Japanese anime style which looks stunning (especially in fight scenes), and the soundtrack is spot-on. I'm already half way through the series, I'm seriously addicted.

Watch it!

We have it over here... I was in love with it when the promo paid gold digger.

I heard it on the radio recently and it just sounded so strange. I've listened to The Automatic cover of it so much that that one has become the official version.

Though there is something about the second vocal of The Automatic that reminds me of Zed from Police Academy.
