3:30 PM Is It Lulu? It was cold. It was wet. There was a long queue. The mulled wine tasted awful. So why bother standing around in those conditions on a Thursday night in Waterloo? Well, thanks to the generosity of Mofo, I had been invited to join her gang to go see this weeks filming of Have I Got News For You. It was the first time I'd ever been part of a TV audience, and it was pretty surreal seeing the actual people and set. The guests were Claudia Winkleman (HDL), that dry Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle, and the host Rob Brydon. The whole filming last about two hours, and I was pretty much laughing non-stop. There were loads of jokes that made that would land them in legal trouble which they must have edited out, so it was great seeing bits that would never be aired. Will have to catch the repeat to see what finally made the cut.  ----- Yesterday was Tanna's birthday, so we headed to some ridiculously poncey bar in some hotel and then headed off to Abacus. I felt quite out of place in there; most of the crowd were of the knobhead city boy scene with their haircuts, ipods and hundred pound notes with residues of coke on them. But we still had a good laugh. There was a potential altercation on the cards when some guy kept on bugging Kate and Rachel and Chris almost got into a fight with him, but I managed to diffuse that situation with a little Grosse Pointe Blank magic "Do you really believe that there's some stored up conflict that exists between us? There is no us. We don't exist. So who do you wanna hit, man? It's not me." I sent him away with a new found respect for life, and just as he went away BAM! I gave him the old fork in the eye. No way! I watch Have I got News For You every week, but missed it for the first time ever on Friday cos I was at my friend's house!!! I have scoured the Internet though and discovered a repeat tomorrow night. I have set a reminder, and shall watch it eagle-eyed, in the hope of catching a glimpse of you....
I'm really looking forward to the repeat, I'm hoping the Boyle joke about putting Litvinienko's body in a rocket and jokes about dog w*nking made the final cut.
