Hells Bells!

Bloody hell, after seeing Les Incompetents performing a fantastic set last Thursday, one of the lead singers was viciously attacked on the bus afterwards:

Les Incompetents : Singer Seriously Hurt In Unprovoked Attack

Rising young stars Les Incompetents were forced to pull out of their O2 Wireless festival performance at Hyde Park last Friday after singer Billy Bell was seriously hurt in an unprovoked attack following their Barfly gig the previous night.

The band, who came into Xfm for a Music: Response session last April to promote their second single 'How It All Went Wrong', posted this message on their myspace page shortly after, confirming that the front man had been hospitalised.

“We're all still quite in the dark about the situation but what we know is that whilst Billy was on his way back from the Barfly last night (truly one of the most enjoyable gigs we've ever played - thanks guys) some c**t attacked him.”

“As far as I know, he got punched, his head hit the pavement hard and he is now unconscious in hospital. There is a serious chance he may have fractured his skull.”

This morning the following official statement was released by the band's press office, who also confirmed that currently the frontman is still being kept unconscious. It reads:

"Les Incompetents have cancelled a series of gigs including an appearance at this year’s Wireless Festival after a vicious and unprovoked attack has left singer Billy Bell seriously ill in intensive care unit at the Royal Free Hospital. Our thoughts are with him and his family. Basically that's all we know at the moment...cheers"

A post appearing on the band’s web forum on Saturday afternoon, purportedly from Billy’s brother Stan, gave an update of the situation. It alleged that Billy was attacked and following one particularly strong blow fell backwards, banging his head on the kerb. It then goes on to state that although he has fractured his skull, no long term damage has been found during head scans. The message concurs with the bands bulletin that the singer was being kept unconscious whilst the pressure in his brain reduces, with hopes he would come round soon.

A further bulletin was posted on myspace today by the band with the following update:

"Although the hospital remain confident that Billy will be back to full health soon, they have chosen to not bring him back into consciousness just yet, giving his body the time it needs to re-invigorate itself and get back to 100% quality.

However once he's conscious again it will still take a bit of time before he's out of the hospital and gig-ready. Thus all gigs we had booked are now cancelled.

Apologies. See you soon. Love Les Incompétents"

Hope you make a speedy recovery Billy.

And for those living in London: Abandon your posts! Flee! Flee for your lives!
